In his Gospel books, especially Revelation 20: 11-12, the apostle John reminded believers that when we pass away, we must pay an account before the throne of the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle John said that he saw again a great white throne with him who sat on it; and from the presence of Jesus the heaven and the earth fled, and there was nowhere to be seen. Again, John saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. All the words and deeds of your life in this world have been opened, and there is another book opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what was written in these books, according to what they had done. Therefore, the verses of today’s spiritual food would like to quote the verses from Chapter 3 of Epistle of James to warn us that we must control our words and deeds when we behave ourselves and tame our tongues, because',” Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”
Holy Word Today" this morning, I read the sharing of "Don't 'cut off' others' hearing" written by Rev. Bob & Mrs. Debby Gass. Pastor Bob quoted Proverbs 13: 3, describing that “those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. “ That is what the theme of "Spiritual Food TODAY" is about to share, "You Must Control Your Own Words and Deeds". Pastor Bob explained to us: Harsh words "cut off" a person's ability to hear you. When Jesus was betrayed by Judas, as recorded in Matthew 26: 53, He did not take revenge, although He could call twelve legions of angels to protect Him. So, the mob came, laid hands on him, and arrested him. Then Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of one of the servants of the high priest. He may be thinking, "We don't have to tolerate this!" However, Jesus said that is not how we handle things! Luke 22:51 records, "So he touched the slave's ear, and healed him." This apostle Peter tended to chatter when he should have listened, and meddle in things he had no right to do with the matter. He needs to learn how to wait on God and practice humility and discernment. God has great plans for his life, and if he wants to fulfill those plans, he cannot accomplish them if he cuts off people's ears when he is affronted by them.
There is a homework here, now you must follow the third person of the Trinity God, led by the Holy Spirit, and you cannot get angry as you like. You must be sensitive to the work of the Holy Spirit: if He tells you to "speak nothing," then you must stand still, even if doing so means making others think they are right when you know they are wrong of. You must understand that God owes you no explanation. When you "do not control your words," you risk hindering your own spiritual growth or God's blessings on your life. Maybe you think that this is nothing compared to the sins for promiscuous or stealing, then look at the warning of the wise King Solomon in Proverbs 13: 3 which is plainly said: "A careful speech will save your life, but an open mouth will lead to your own destruction.” Happy Friday and great weekend everyone!
Spiritual Food TODAY” would like to quote Matthew 12: 36-37 and everyone encourages to pray for each other in the love of our Lord. Pastor Bob wants us to tame our tongues and " Don't 'cut off' others' hearing ". Therefore, in the Matthew verse quoted in the conclusion of today's spiritual food, the Savior Jesus Christ reminded the Pharisees and us as believers, saying: "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words, you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” May God help us to live in a rich spiritual life throughout our lives. If someone thinks he is devout, but he does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his own heart. The piety of this man is vanity. Therefore, the Epistle of James reminds us as believers, "You Must Control Your Own Words and Deeds." For the tongue is fire, and the tongue is a world of sin among our members, and it defiles the whole body. May God have mercy on us and give us strength. Be able to curb your tongue, patiently follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and walk the righteous path of a saved life. Pray in the name of the Lord, Amen!
