; The King of Israel, who has always been known as the wise king, King Solomon in the Old Testament era, collected proverbs and wrote proverbs about people’s sins and repentance, especially in Proverbs 27: 6, which says: "Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses." It means that when you commit a crime and do wrong, it is better to have a good and honest man or friend to advise you to repent than to be a hypocrite, like Judas was Jesus’ close disciple, who betrayed Jesus and gave kisses, but Judas’s love hides a knife well! Therefore, the verses of today's spiritual food will quote the verses of Proverbs 28: 12-13 to warn and remind us when we do wrong things, we must remember and know, "How to Free a Heart Bound by Sin ". Therefore, King Solomon said it again in the verses of today's spiritual food and encourage us to remember it, saying: "When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding. Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy."」
Holy Word Today" this morning, I read the sharing of "Can you be corrected?" written by Rev. Bob & Mrs. Debby Gass. Pastor Bob quoted 2 Samuel 12: 13-14, describing that King David committed the crime of violating Uriah’s wife Bathsheba. He confessed his sin as soon as he realized it and received God’s forgiveness, so that he would not die. That is what the theme of "今日灵粮 Spiritual Food TODAY" is about to share. People must know, " How to Free a Heart Bound by Sin ". Pastor Bob explained to us: God sent the prophet Nathan to question King David about his adultery with Bathsheba. As king, David had the power to execute Nathan of his questioning, however, David did not do that. He was humbled, corrected, and repented. Not only his throne was restored, but also God's favour was restored to him. And thus, the question here is, can you be corrected? If you can, your future is bright and your potential is enormous. However, you also must be discerning. Not all corrections are constructive, so you do not have to accept them all. Some people may wish to pretend to be kind to you, but they may have malicious intentions to destroy you, weaken your self-esteem, or manipulate you into accepting their way of thinking. Therefore, we must be cautious and make it a habit to analyze the motivations of the person who helps correct you by asking yourself these questions: (1) In the past, has this person expressed a genuine concern for my personal well-being and development? (2) What do they personally gain if I implement the behavior they recommend? What will I get? What to lose? (3) Is their attitude well-meaning, or does it make me feel attacked and belittled? Be careful not to mistake a person's admonition or anger about your behavior for attacking you; (4) Do I feel like a hopeless loser after they criticize me, or do they show respect of you and have confidence in your ability to change? (5) Are they committed to going through this change with me? The apostle John tells us in his epistle 1 John 1:9 that only God's forgiveness and grace can make us know " How to Free a Heart Bound by Sin ", and therefore: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Happy Friday and great weekend everyone!
Spiritual Food TODAY” would like to quote Job 5: 17-18 and everyone encourages to pray for each other in the love of our Lord. Pastor Bob’s sharing in today’s spiritual food is asking us, when you sin and do wrong things, “Can you be corrected?” In other words, “How to Free a Heart Bound by Sin.” As quoted verses in the book of Job, Job comforts us and says, “Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.” May God help us to live a spiritual life throughout our lives, and if we have sinned, we should ask God to forgive us and be released. May God’s mercy give us the strength to humbly obey the Holy Spirit hidden in our heart temple, follow the touch and guidance of this Comforter, not to commit any sins knowingly, but walk on the righteous path to have the life of salvation. Pray in the name of the Lord, Amen!
