; As an active Emeritus Worker, he believed in God’s call and completed His mission and work according to the Will of God. Encouraged and grateful for God's unfailing love, this worker recently received a gift from God from an American seminary in the southern United States, which honoured and conferred him with the earned Doctor of Ministry degree. As the apostle Paul encourages us in Romans 8: 28: “We know that in all things God works for good for those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Therefore, in today’s spiritual food topic: “Blessed Are Those Who Wait Eagerly for God.” The apostle Paul further elaborated on the scripture he quoted, saying: “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

This morning in "圣经日日行 We Devote ", I read Rev. Nicky Gumbel's sharing on "Ask God for His Will." The pastor quoted Isaiah 29:1 - 30:18, especially verse 30: 18, describing the stubborn people in the Old Testament and woe to God's favored people. The prophet Isaiah criticized the Israelites for going their own way. Instead of calling on God, the Israelites turned to the Egyptians for help. But God is still mercifully waiting for their reflection and conversion, and will also show mercy to them. This is what the theme of "今日灵粮 Spiritual Food TODAY " is about to share, " Blessed Are Those Who Wait Eagerly for God."

In his sharing, Pastor Gumbel like gave us a detailed analysis and explanation with examples: Usually, we either make our own decisions or ask others for help. And forget to “ask God’s will” first. Charismatic Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer said it best, “When you are in trouble, don’t call first, go first to the throne of the king.” In the book of Isaiah quoted by the pastor in verses 30: 1-2, the prophet Isaiah criticized the Israelites for going their own way. They did not ask God. As a result, the Israelites went further and further down the wrong path. Instead of calling on God, the Israelites turned to the Egyptians for help. The Israelites did not want to know God's plan for them, and that was the fundamental problem. Isaiah 29: 13 describes their worship as a mere formality, "This people draws near to me and honuors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They fear me only at the command of men."

Jesus showed that this warning was not just for the Israelites of his time. Matthew 15: 7-9 Jesus also said this to the Pharisees and teachers of the law: “You hypocrites, Isaiah was right in prophesying about you. He said, this people they honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They teach people what they command as doctrines, so worshiping me is in vain." Because of their evil intentions, these people will try every means to hide their conspiracy from God, so is in Isaiah 29: 15-16 reminds: “Woe to them who have hidden their counsel from the LORD, and who work in secret, saying, who has seen us? Who knows us? You have turned things upside down; how can you see is the potter like clay? Shall the things that are made say to the one who made them, He did not make me? Or the things that are made, say to Him who made them, He has no understanding.” So, Isaiah 30: 1-2 the verse says it, as a result: "They conspired together, but not from me; they made alliances, but not from my Spirit, so that they might add sin to sin. They arose and went down to Egypt without consulting me." So is the verse in Isaiah 30: 9-11, which accuses them even more of "because they are a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not obey the commandment of the Lord. They said to the seers: Do not see anything evil; Say to the prophet: Speak not to us what is right; speak to us soft and deceitful things. Turn aside from the straight path and turn aside from the straight path; do not mention the Holy One of Israel again before us." The people did not want to hear the prophet. warning. They turned a blind eye to all warnings, and in the same chapter, verse 30: 11, even tried to take down the warning sign that said, “Forsaken from the straight path,”. And then, in verse 16, it says, “Otherwise, we will ride on horseback and ride.” I’m the same way sometimes, too often going my own way and doing things on my own without asking God. But this passage also contains hope in verses 29 : 24: “Those who are confused in their hearts will be understood, and those who murmur will be disciplined.” Therefore, God reminded them in verse 30: 15: “Your salvation lies in your return and rest. In peace and stability will be your strength." We must pray to God in everything and "Ask God for His will"; therefore, "Blessed are those who eagerly wait for God." Waiting for God's help is the best policy. Happy Friday and great weekend everyone!

Spiritual Food TODAY” would like to quote Lamentation 3: 25-26 of Prophet Jeremiah and encourages everyone to pray for each other in the love of the Lord. In today’s sharing of spiritual food, Pastor Gumbel reminded us that we must pray for God’s help in everything and “Ask God for His will”, just like the prophet Isaiah’s encouragement in the first paragraph of Isaiah 30: 18 He said to the Israelites, "The Lord is waiting to be gracious to you ..." The theme of today’s spiritual food is to encourage everyone and recognize that, “Blessed Are Those Who Wait Eagerly for God.” The prophet Jeremiah also encourages us in his Lamentations chapter 3 to rely on God in everything, because: “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. " Pray in the name of the Lord, Amen!
