Many biblical scholars believe that the concept of God as a worker is prominent in many religious traditions, indicating that God is actively involved in shaping and influencing human life. This idea is often expressed in scriptures and theological works, emphasizing God's work in individuals and the world around them. As one of the scholars put it, the concept of God as a worker emphasizes the belief that God is not just a passive observer, but is actively involved in the lives of individuals. His Holy Spirit lives in our hearts, guiding, inspiring, and empowering us.

The scripture shared by 《今日灵粮 Spiritual FOOD TODAY》 is Philippians 2:13, which emphasizes that God is at work in the hearts of individuals, both in the desire to will and in the act of His good pleasure.

In the "Pure Joy" column, Pastor John Piper published a sermon titled "God Working for You", quoting Psalm 121:1-3 and asking believers: "Do you need help?" If the answer is "I do," then "Where do you get your help?" Pastor John Piper asked, and went on to explain：

In Psalm 121:1, the psalmist looked up at the mountains and asked, “Where does my help come from?” Then he answered, “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth”—not from the mountains, but from the Lord God who made them. He reminded himself of two great truths: (A) First, God is the almighty Creator who is above all the problems of life, and (B) second, God never slumbers.

God is a tireless worker. It is wonderful to think of God as a worker in your life. We often think of ourselves as

God’s workers. But the wonderful thing about the Bible is that God is a worker in our lives. Isaiah 64:4 states, “From ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen, any gods besides you, who work for those who wait for Him.”

God works for us 24 hours a day. He never rests, and he never slumbers. In fact, he is so eager to help us that his eyes run throughout the earth, eager to do more for all who trust in Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9 states, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show His strength in behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.”

God demonstrates His infinite power, wisdom, and goodness by working for those who trust in Him, and He loves to do so. Our heavenly Father God is demonstrating His will through His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, as Mark 10:45 states, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Jesus works for His followers, He serves them:

We must believe this, and if we believe this, we can “rejoice always,” as Philippians 4:4 says, “give thanks for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” And as Ephesians 5:20 says, “give thanks always for everything to God the Father.” Likewise, Philippians 4:7 states that we are also to always have that “peace that surpasses all understanding.” Philippians 4:6 exhorts us to “be anxious for nothing” and even John 12:25 encourages us to “hate our life in this world”.

Thus, Matthew 22:39 reminds us that as Christians, we are to learn and imitate our Savior Jesus, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This is the truth of the gospel! This is the fact of God’s great love for mankind! God works day and night for those who wait for Him.
