凡仰望耶和华的人,你们都要壮胆,坚固你们的心!“;King David was the king of Israel in the Old Testament who trusted God the most and relied on the heavenly Father the most. He always prayed and looked to God for help in every difficult moment. In the Psalms, he encouraged his people, just like us believers later, and also encouraged us to become children of God, saying: “Love the LORD, all his faithful people! The LORD preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.”

The verse shared in 《Spiritual FOOD TODAY今日灵粮》 is Psalm 31:23-24. After reading Psalm 31, many Bible scholars have urged us to trust in God no matter what happens, and to be strong and courageous because of trusting Him. Psalm 31 was written by King David. It is his personal declaration of absolute trust in the Lord and his prayer to the Lord for help in extreme depression and danger. In view of God's great love and His miraculous rescue of the psalmist from the brink of death, David exhorts those of us who love the Lord, especially Psalm 31:23-24 quoted and shared in today's spiritual food, that no matter how difficult our situation is, we must trust in the help entrusted to us by Him.

In the column of Rev. Lettie Cowman of Wells of Grace, a preacher (probably also a pastor) participated in publishing a sermon entitled "Our Eyes Are Only on God", citing 2 Chronicles 20:12 to remind us believers and deepen our thinking, emphasizing that when we are in trouble and don't know what to do, just like the Israelites who were unable to resist the incoming enemy army, they were at a loss, but still looked to God for salvation.

The pastor continued to explain, give examples and ask questions: Among the Israelites, some people used their own hands to support the Ark of the Covenant without God's command, and were killed. Although his original intention - to support the Ark of the Covenant without shaking - was good, this presumptuous behavior cost him his life; then, how should Christians live by faith? The pastor continued to emphasize and encourage us, that is, don't worry anymore, let God take all the responsibility. Since we have completely entrusted the matter to God, we should not ask anymore. Does the Almighty God still need our help? Isn't what He has done less than what we want to do?

As well, the psalmist in Psalm 37:7 exhorted us believers in the Bible again: "Trust in the Lord, wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of those who do good or because of those who seek evil." Many times, perhaps you see that things are getting worse and worse. If this is the case, since we know, how can the Almighty God not know? If we can truly trust Him, trust and rely on Him completely, and let God accomplish it in His own way, God will act at the appropriate time. Therefore, in many things, if we can trust God completely and not betray Him, this is a great help from God. On the contrary, if we lack faith in God and only act according to our own conscience, this is a great hindrance and also reveals our lack of faith in "looking to God alone."

Remember in Matthew 14:22-34, a pastor preached about the verse about Peter walking on the water, which is a well-known content and gospel in the Bible. The pastor reminded that from this Gospel, especially the description in verse 31, it is easy to see a spiritual lesson, that is, although Peter's faith was small, he knew to call on the Lord and seek His help, and the Lord Jesus immediately reached out to save him. Therefore, no matter when and where, the Lord is our helper. When we encounter troubles or crises, we should call on the Lord and seek His help. Prayer does not have to be mainly about supplication. Prayers that draw close to God should express more gratitude and praise. Because John 14:18 speaks even more of the permission of the Savior Jesus, God’s everlasting love for His children, saying, “I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.”
