Why is it called the "Mystery of the Salvation"? Because before the coming of Christ, "God's Plan of Redemption" is "the fulfillment of God's final redemption for mankind." This mystery was not fully revealed or understood in the Old Testament. It was not until the coming of Jesus in the New Testament that this "mystery" was revealed. Now, let us explain these arrangements of God in more detail and by category:

(1) Our Savior Jesus Christ Fulfilled "God's Plan of Redemption": This "mystery" was revealed through the preaching of the gospel of salvation by Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 6:14 that the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the heart of the gospel, revealing “the Mystery of God’s Redemption Plan” and fulfilling “God’s Final Redemption of Mankind.” Through Jesus’ blood, the sins of mankind are washed away. His resurrection overcomes the death penalty for sin and gives us eternal life, direct access to God, and peace with God.

(2) God’s Final Redemption Includes Both Jews and Gentiles: The heart of this “mystery” is that Jews and Gentiles receive God’s salvation equally through the redemption of Jesus Christ. In the passage quoted by 《今日灵粮 Spiritual FOOD TODAY》, the Apostle Paul refers to Romans 11:25-27, which reveals that many Israelites are currently temporarily separated from God. However, until the number of Gentiles who believe in Jesus as their Savior reaches universal abundance, God will eventually redeem the Israelites from their sins and grant them the same salvation. (3) Prophetic hints of “God’s Plan of Salvation”: As mentioned earlier, prior to Paul’s ministry, the prophets had glimpsed the future “God’s Plan of Salvation,” but did not fully understand it, only revealing it through the prophets. These prophetic hints included the promise of blessing through Abraham’s descendants. God made a covenant with Abraham: God promised Abraham that through him “all the families of the earth would be blessed,” indicating that the scope of blessing extended far beyond Abraham’s direct descendants. This ultimately pointed to a wider salvation that included the Gentiles. As we have noted, while the Old Testament does not fully and explicitly reveal this “mystery,” it foreshadows the inclusion of the Gentiles through various prophecies and covenants.

(4) The Gospel is “God’s Plan of Salvation by Grace”: The gospel of Jesus the Savior is the revelation of the mystery of God’s plan, the truth, and the process of revelation. Surprisingly, Ephesians 1:3-14, written by Paul, is a complete sentence in the Greek original text, containing God’s eternal purpose for the church in the past, present, and future. Paul uses these verses to reveal the outline of God’s Plan of Salvation. Verses 3-6 are the past of the Plan of Salvation — the plan has been CHOSEN; verses 6b-11 are the present of the Plan of Salvation — the PROCESS of this plan of salvation; and verses 12-14 are the FUTURE of the plan of salvation — the inheritance God gives to saved believers.

IN SHORT, God’s Plan of Salvation covers every believer who has or will believe in Jesus as the Savior and be saved, whether Jew or Gentile. As one theologian put it, the entire history and record of the Bible points to the Savior Jesus Christ, His “Redemption Story,” a story conceived in eternity and written for mankind to follow Jesus and strengthen their faith in Jesus in order to obtain God’s Salvation and Grace.
